Rent Review Update
Despite the current state of the High Street and the malaise in the retail market many of you will still be facing rental increases, or at least a difficult negotiations to agree nil increases or reductions, at rent review or lease renewal. Whilst it cannot be denied that in certain towns and shopping centres rents are falling, there are still many examples of areas where rental levels are increasing either through demand for good units in prime locations or clever asset management.
It is therefore still important that the membership work together and liaise closely to ensure that information is shared to minimise rental increases. As such it is intended to hold Rent Review Forums in the New Year designed for members to attend to discuss current issues and raise any particular areas of concern. As always the success of the Forums will depend on the participation of the membership so to enable the maximum number of members to attend the Forums will be held on a regional basis. Dates and locations will be circulated to the membership once confirmed.
